kiss the cook

Kiss the cook

Generally speaking, I've always been at home in the kitchen. Whilst my peers were always up to date on the latest happenings on MTV's The Real World, I was deeply saturated in the intricacies of the culinary arts via the Food Network. Instead of "last night's big game" I could only comment on the many methods of roasting a chicken, which in my opinion was far more interesting. Why on earth would I be more comfortable in front of a stove than fervently screaming at a television, wearing an over-sized sports jersey, rooting for a bunch of athletically inclined livestock (let's face it, these guys are huge) who wouldn't even know I was doing all of that? Its actually quite simple. Chicks dig a guy who can cook and their aren't 300 pound gorillas in helmets and cleats trying to tackle me in a kitchen. Honestly, I would much rather spend a Saturday roasting, boiling, frying and sauteing tasty morsels for my loved ones than out running up and down some field filling the air with body odor instead of nasal bliss from a stove. I don't want to be seen as discrediting the pleasure to be had from physical activities and accomplishments but you have to admit that eating good food is everyone's favorite pastime. In fact, one of the more powerful substances in the world. It has the power to bring people together and uplift your spirits. But you all know that "with great power comes great responsibility" (yes I just quoted a line from Spiderman the movie). Even though the greasy, salty, sugary stuff tastes the best, they're the one's you have to be careful with the most. So here's the deal: Among other seemingly random posts I'll occasionally post recipe's that I've made up over the years that still get good responses. Most will be relatively healthy but some will most definitely not. I'm even contemplating have a weekly "Fat Kid Friday" post. So in the mean-time and between time (Snoop), enjoy life.
